LxL Student Recital: dancing with El Diablo
On June 18th, a lineup of guitar and voice students taught by Latitude x Longitude members, Spencer & Rebeqa, gathered at El Diablo Coffee in Seattle, WA to show off their well-practiced muzical skillz. We weren't expecting a standing-room-only crowd...and we certainly weren't expecting the 4 students who performed to bring round after round of whoops, hollers, laughs, guffaws, and standing ovations.
One of the evening's highlights was Rebeqa's singing appearance with 12 year old Maya on guitar as they performed the Lady Gaga hit, "Telephone". That's just good stuff.

Booking, booking, booking....and such.

On June 12th, Latitude x Longitude returned from our Eastern Washington tour to a marvelously slow June & July. After spending April & May in the recording studio then promptly going on tour, Spencer & I were really (really) happy to have a few weeks to catch up on life. But, there is no rest for the wicked working musician, and we're back on the booking circuit, lining up a row of rock shows, multi-talented round robin extravaganzas, house concerts, etc, for the fall.
Keep your eyes on the LxL website for more details.

Out of the Studio...and into the (metaphoric) fire.
The first Latitude x Longitude album is out of the studio and moving into the hands of those who Master. We're quite happy to have completed our part in the process and are now learning a lot about self-releasing an album. It's encouraging to see how many mid to large scale artists and bands are self-producing in recent years. The recording industry has been underwhelming in their treatment of artists, in my experience. So, upward and onward we blaze our own little trail.

Final Latitude x Longitude Studio Dates Booked
LxL's final days in the studio for album #1 (to release in Fall, 2010) are on the books. Although the wait hasn't been long for fans since the group's last release (they released a limited-run EP in December of 2009) demand is still high as European and US bloggers are catching onto the LxL trail.

Abrace in the SCAN TV Studio
Here is a segment from SCAN TV recent 30 minute feature of Abráce with guest, George Sadak on percussion. This piece, "We Bring Peace Upon Us" - composed by Shlomo Gronich, with lyrics by Ehud Manor and Majid Abu Rukun - was originally performed as a collaboration of several prominent Israeli and Palestinian musicians. Performed in Hebrew and Arabic, this song is the anthem of Peace Child International and is dedicated to people everywhere who, in spite of all obstacles, are working for peace. ________________
