Bio

Latitude x Longitude formed when Alaskan-born singer/songwriter, Rebeqa Rivers met Texan ex-pat, guitarist, Spencer Smith over a dirty guitar amp in the rain.  Striking up an impromptu jam session the duo found the song of Tom Waits in their hearts, and formed a pact.  Adding toy piano, hand percussion and other odds-n-end instruments they are always seeking the next incarnation of sound.

Soon after their initial meeting, Rivers and Smith recruited visual artist Michelle Anderst to bring her detail-oriented exploration of organic and man-made structures to the group. Framing Rebeqa's inquisitive lyrics and Spencer's contortionist guitar, Michelle whimsically examines the patterns and elegance of the machinery, anatomy, flora, and fauna that surround everyday life.
