The Band.
Hot out of recording their first album, Seattle's Latitude x Longitude (LxL) brings the best of Jazz, World, and Gypsy music to a fresh Rock sound.
Combining the talents of Classically-trained singer/songwriter, Rebeqa Rivers, and guitarist, Spencer Smith (The Orchestrion), Latitude x Longitude formed when the pair met over a dirty guitar amp in a Seattle rainstorm.
The Music.Keeping audiences on their toes with a combination of humor, grit, infectious melodies, and storytelling lyrics, LxL begain performing as an acoustic duo, which quickly expanded to include come-and-go sit-in musicians such as Sean Bendickson (drums), Olivia Hamilton (bass), Cody Rahn (drums), Phil Hirschi (cello), and Joe Martin (violin). (The latter four musicians also performing on LxL's self-titled first album.)
Discography. The did a limited-release LP in November of 2009 (35 copies to fans via their Facebook page), and soon afterward recieved their first press mention on
www.boingboing.net and their track "
Phosphorus+Gasoline" was picked up by
Sepiachord as their Song of the Day. They are currently poised to release their first album in early, 2011.
The Team. LxL is known for working exclusively with a strong team of local talents, such as videographer
